Climate Solution Technologies in Media

List of intervjues with Engineer Jorn-Erik Ommang

Interview in Teknisk Ukeblad, Norway´s main Technical Weekly Magazine, with Engineer Jorn-Erik Ommang regarding Zero-Point-Energy / Radiant Energy / Electromagnetic Quantum Vacuum Energy.

“Zero point energy
– the future's infinite power resource?”

Is it possible to utilize the amount of energy some physicists claim exists in empty space? Is it renewable and more powerful than nuclear power? Electronics engineer Jørn Erik Ommang thinks so.

By LEIF HAALAND Teknisk Ukeblad / Norway´s Technical Weekly Magazine, 1997, TU.no

Some highlights from the several pages intervju:

- It has been proven that the so-called zero point energy exists, claims Ommang. He points out that the US Patent Office approves zero-point energy (NPE) as a real usable energy source.
Since 1978, Jørn Erik Ommang has worked with research and development of energy technology. He has been research director in a British company for the development of zero-point energy (NPE), in parallel with his work as a consultant in Statoil, Shell and Norsk Hydro.

Unbelievable
- Quantum mechanical electromagnetic zero-point energy (NPE) from empty space is calculated to have enormous energy density, so great that in a volume equivalent to a coffee cup you have enough energy to evaporate all the oceans on the globe.
According to Ommang, the American physicist John Archibald Wheeler at the University of Texas, among others, has calculated this. This may weigh heavily on the chest of an ordinary reader, but Ommang unflinchingly refers to experiments in the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Japan - and Norway. These have actually released more energy than is being added, even if measurement errors are subtracted.

A number of patented and patent-pending devices are reported to have generated electrical power in the order of magnitude from 100W to 9kW directly from NPE.

"SOLVING the climate crisis - Have faith in the "Blacklight process"

by STIAN ESPELAND , BA – paper edition, 24.10.09, pages 12 – 13

«A new CO2-free form of energy that runs only on water is the answer to the climate challenges of the future.»

«Claims to have found a new form of energy»
by John Økland, (Offshore.no), E24.no, Norway's largest business life newspaper, 22. October 2009

In a few years, the world's energy problems may be solved, believes Ing. Erik Ommang who is an expert in new and environmentally friendly energy. He believes the BlackLight process, which was developed in the USA and which provides CO2-free energy and runs only on water, will be able to solve the energy and climate challenges of the future. Some highlights from the article: (The BlackLight process is a name for the Brilliant Light Power Inc technology)

- The BlackLight process has been presented both on CNN, Reuters, CNN Money.com, in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, Guardian, BBC Focus Science and Technology Monthly and on businessGreen.com.

«- That this revolutionary breakthrough in CO2-free energy is not better known in Norway shows something I have often experienced: Norwegian companies in traditional and renewable energy focus only on what they are used to. They do not follow the development of new modern CO2-free energy technology. This attitude is dangerous and will now cause Norwegian investors in old outgoing technology, such as wind, solar and bio, losses of several billion kroner», believes Ommang.

- Critical to research environments
He is also critical of leading research environments in Norway, which he believes are far too skeptical of new forms of energy. He also believes that some research environments have published unscientific information about the BlackLight process on their websites and thereby discredited the technology.

- Ing. Jørn Erik Ommang believes that such criticism affects investors and companies negatively and is an obstacle to the necessary restructuring. - These scientific communities are therefore harmed by ensuring that research funds are channeled into technologies that are not future-oriented, Ommang believes.

"Oil and gas are becoming redundant"

By OLE ERIK KLOKEIDE, DN.NO

Dagens Næringsliv, DN.NO, (Norwegian for «Today's Business» is the leading Norwegian newspaper specializing in business news. It is the Norwegian type Financial Times) DN.NO. 02.12.97

Highlights from the DN.NO intervju with Engineer Jorn-Erik Ommang:

New forms of energy can make oil, gas and nuclear power redundant in a few years, without negative environmental consequences. However, Norwegian oil and energy companies show little interest in the new technology. This is claimed by the engineer and researcher Jørn Erik Ommang, who makes a living by selling information about new energy sources to Norwegian business.

Giant groups such as Shell, Amoco, Toyota, Fiat, Motorola, Mitsubishi Hitachi, Nippon, Hyundai, Daewoo and several multinational groups are quietly researching new technology that few in the Norwegian oil and energy sector want to talk about .

It is advanced technology in electromagnetic energy vibration and nuclear reactions that is the basis of what is called zero-point energy, cold fusion, low-energy nuclear reaction and new hydrogen energy. Ommang's customers are a number of Norwegian players in the energy and financial markets.

He is not particularly happy that DN reveals the customers, but he nevertheless confirms that everyone on DN's list receives information from his company Institute for Energy Technology Assessment (IETA) in Bergen. Statoil, Statkraft, Alfred Berg, Bergen Energi, Vestnorsk Enøk, Bergen Patent Office, Norwegian Energy Brokers and other analysts, oil and energy companies, municipalities, power plants and private investors buy information about new, powerful and renewable energy technology.

«- There will be a revolution in the energy sector that will start within five to ten years. The multinational giants are far ahead. Within two to four years, the American development company CETI, for example, will have a new type of water heater that uses up to 70 per cent less energy, says Ommang.

The new technology is ahead of the breakthrough, and will provide energy for cars, ships and planes without problems with greenhouse gases and other negative environmental consequences.

Several Norwegian oil companies work quietly with the technology, but few want to talk about it. Statoil's research center in Trondheim confirms that Ommang has submitted a comprehensive report. - We have to keep our eyes open for this. We have technology monitoring and we dare not reject this. If something happens now, it's groundbreaking, but we haven't seen anything like that yet, says chief engineer Roar Stockholm.

This is energy the technology:

Zero Point Energy (NPE): Electromagnetic energy vibrations in the space between atomic particles and between stars and planets. Also available at zero temperature.

Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (LENR): Form of energy where nuclear reactions and high heat generation are achieved with an unusually small supply of energy. Does not cause problems with radioactive radiation. Assumed to be related to NPE.

Cold Fusion: A form of energy where extra heat generation is achieved with low energy use. Probably a combination of fusion and NPE.

Water as fuel: New hydrogen energy phenomenon based on new discoveries in chemistry and physics. Simply put, the energy is produced by shrinking hydrogen atoms. Probably related to NPE.

Highlights from the article:
A new C02-free form of energy that only runs on water solves the climate problem. Engineer Jørn Erik Ommang is completely convinced of that. Either it is the most amazing discovery of our time or a gross mistake. It is the American company Blacklight Power (now Brilliant Light Power) that claims they have developed a process that represents a new CO2-free energy source based on principles that are a cross between chemistry and quantum physics.

Energy revolution
Jørn Erik Ommang, project manager at the energy consulting company Enerley.com, uses words as  sensation and revolution when he talks about Blacklight Power's discoveries. The Bergen resident, who makes a living by delivering newsletters about developments in energy technology, has followed Blacklight Power for a number of years. It has taken 19 years to develop and optimize the process. In October 2008 and August 2009, researchers at Rowan University in New Jersey, USA, verified that the company's two prototypes of 10 and 50 kW worked as the company claimed. The university was able to replicate the process without help.

More powerful than oil and gas
The blacklight process produces large amounts of heat energy that can be used for heating and electricity production. In addition, the process can be used to generate large quantities of cheap hydrogen gas for cars, aircraft and shipping.

The technology can replace burners in coal, oil and gas power plants so that you get power plants that are powered by water and do not emit any C02. We are talking about an energy technology that is extremely much more powerful than oil and gas, while being cheap enough to be a real replacement, says Ommang. Clean CO2-free energy at seven øre per kWh is his incredible estimate.

How does the process work in practice?

….. The hydrogen atom then shrinks to a so-called hydrino and light, enormous amounts of heat and hydrino hydrides are released. Since the Blacklight process gains access to a new energy source and it provides more than 200 times the energy needed to split hydrogen from water, the process can be run on hydrogen from ordinary water. The Blacklight process extracts 200 times more energy from the hydrogen than is obtained by burning hydrogen gas in the usual way.

Pure fraud
Chemistry professor Martin Ystenes at NTNU is not gracious in his criticism when he is asks for a comment. - This reeks of fraud. The electron in hydrogen's ground state cannot have a lower energy, it is impossible based on quantum physics. If someone had actually managed to do it Ystenes thinks it is strange that the scientific world has missed it. Only one professional journal has published the results, and Ystenes describes it as rather frivolous. - If there had been the slightest hint of reality behind this, "New Scientist" would have made it the main issue week after week. How is it that no one who reads such magazines has heard of it? Unless you want to try your hand at conspiracy theories, there's only one possibility left: It's pure nonsense.

Ystenes also questions the outcome of the process. - The "waste" is claimed not to be a pollutant, but something entirely new, with unknown properties and effects. How do you know, then, that it is harmless? It is inconceivable that one would accept something so new without examining it first. Here, after all, we are talking about enormous quantities to be produced to cover the world's energy needs. Blacklight talks about energies between chemical energy and nuclear energy, the equivalent between X-ray radiation and gamma radiation. Why have neither environmental organizations nor HSE agencies reacted? Because it doesn't exist, says the chemistry professor.

Norway will lose industrial opportunities
It is absolutely incredible that, in the context of the world, small NTNU and Professor Martin Ystenes can sit in Trondheim and accuse us all of engaging in "pure fraud". NTNU's statements were commented by the management of Blacklight Power Inc. as a completely unbelievable statements from Norway's leading university and educational institution - they wonder what the oil nation Norway is doing. If Norwegian companies and investors in the field of energy do not soon turn around, acquire knowledge about, and engage in modern powerful CO2-free energy technologies instead of the old renewable ones, then many more will lose even more billions and Norway will lose new industrial opportunities, answers engineer Ommang.

"Now the oil is wrecked?"

By Martin K. Andersen - 24/10/2009 - Avisenes Nyhetsbyrå (ANB) («Newspapers' News Agency» is a Norwegian news agency)

One year's energy consumption of seven liters of water? American scientists believe they have found the solution to the world's energy crisis. Some highlights from the article:

It is offshore.no that reports on the news from American research. According to engineer Jørn Erik Ommang, the world's energy problems can now be solved. Ommang is an expert in new and environmentally friendly energy, and believes that the American invention will be able to solve the climate challenges in the future.

«- The revolutionary thing is that it has now been verified that hydrogen is not only an energy carrier, but also a new form of energy», says Ommang to offshore.no.

And the process is so powerful that with just seven liters of water you can create enough energy for one year's consumption for an average household. And the new form of energy is also completely CO2-free - and much more powerful than both coal, oil and gas. Ommang believes it can provide electricity for just seven cents per kilowatt hour.

«- This is the biggest thing that has happened in energy since the start of nuclear power in 1954 and is the beginning of the end for the old, renewable forms of energy wind, solar, bio and wave», Ommang believes. - and believes there is enough good scientific and practical evidence to conclude this already.

The BlackLight company (now called Brilliant Light Power, Inc.) have already a working prototype of 50,000 watts.

The process works in such a way that you shrink a hydrogen atom. This releases energy that is more than 200 times more than the energy released by burning hydrogen gas. «- It is a bit like nuclear power (it is a chemical process), but without the radioactivity», says Ommang.

And the Norwegian energy expert believes that commercial models could be in use as early as two years from now. «- According to the company, they should be able to have models ready for use as power plants by then», says Ommang.

The technology is supposed to be relatively well-known in the USA, but few in Norway have heard of it, even though it is several years old. And those who have commented on it have used unflattering words and almost sneer at the technology.

«- Norwegian companies only focus on what they are used to, and many environments harm development with their attitudes», Ommang believes. (ANB)

New hydrogen energy source

Published 26.10.2009 17:49:22 by John Bradbury
http://web.archive.org/web/20111110093255/http://www.offshore247.com:80/news/art.aspx?Id=15089

In the run up to to the Copenhagen climate change conference next month when world leaders will seek a deal to replace the Kyoto Protocol, an energy consultancy in Norway is backing a new environmentally friendly energy source called the Blacklight Process which, it is claimed, could replace oil and gas to provide the world's power needs.

Engineer Jørn Erik Ommang who runs a Bergen-based energy consultancy company operating in Norway and Spain, Enerley.com, which is a continuation of the Institute for Energy Technology Assessment (IETA), is promoting the technology through newsletters, after the process was first developed in the US by a Harvard graduate, Randell Mills, 19 years ago.

This 'new'  energy technology is based on rearranging electrons in a hydrogen molecule – going against conventional scientific thinking says Ommang. It involves getting the electron in a hydrogen atom to go in to a lower orbit that the lowest state and from that releases large amounts of heat. It is achieved using hydrogen from water and adding a catalyst to release the energy in a previously undiscovered form called “hydrino,” according to US company BlackLight Power which was formed by Mills and has developed the process.

BlackLight Power on its own website explains the process thus: “Since certain proprietary catalysts cause the hydrogen atoms to transition to lower-energy states by allowing their electrons to fall to smaller radii around the nucleus with a release of energy that is intermediate between chemical and nuclear energies, the primary application is as a new primary energy source.”

And the US company's website continues: “Specifically, energy is released as the electrons of hydrogen atoms are induced by a catalyst to transition to lower-energy levels (i.e. drop to lower base orbits around each atom's nucleus).”

Specifically, BlackLight makes substantial claims for the potency of this power source: It says the net energy released through its process could be “..two hundred times that of combustion of hydrogen fuel with power densities comparable to those of fossil-fuel and nuclear power plants.”

But understandably, there are likely to be many out there who would be reluctant to accept this.

“This is the greatest thing that has happened in energy since the start-up of nuclear power in 1954 and this is the beginning of the end for the old renewable energy sources wind, solar, biofuels, and wave-power,” Ommang said recently, interviewed on Offshore247's sister site Offshore.no.

Verification studies have been carried out in the US by Rowan University, in New Jersey, says Ommang. In fact in 2006, Rowan university listed one of its research contracts with Blacklight Power worth US $75,000, involving “calorimetric replication of Blacklight Power plasma experiments.” Rowan has since published academic papers which claims to have prove the technology, offshore247.com has learned.

Accepting that the claims for this energy source might seem be too good to be true, Ommang points out that a successful independent replication and validation of a 1,000 watt and a 50,000 watt Blacklight Power reactor generating new clean energy has been performed by a US University.

Furthermore Blacklight has non-exclusive licensing agreements in place with five US utility companies plus one newly formed independent power producer, to produce up to 8,000 Megawatts of electrical power.

Blacklight is to receive a fixed royalty payment per kilowatt hour of thermal or electrical energy produced. Energy cost savings resulting from these agreements are put at US $2 Bn, according to BlackLight.

“Although most physicists say that this is not theoretically possible, more than 80 scientific papers are supporting the results,” adds Ommang.

Claims have been made about the discovery of a new CO2-free source of energy which its backers claims is more powerful than oil and gas.
